Step 2: Update your login Keychain password (only for Macs)
- Click the Apple logo, found on the top left corner of the menu bar, and select "Log Out..."
- Log back in using your username (firstName.lastName, i.e. "jane.doe") and your new SSO password.
You will be prompted to update your login Keychain password, this is because the login Keychain is still using your previous SSO password, and your new SSO password does not match.
Click the "Update Keychain Password" button. DO NOT click on "Continue log in" or "Create New Keychain"
Type in your old SSO password (just this time), and your login Keychain will then be synced with your new SSO password.
Note: After following the steps to reset your SSO you may see a pop-up saying "Insufficient access invalid credentials". If you see this you have reset your password and you can safely disregard the message. This is due to a software bug with the FreeIPA WebUI.
Note: If you fail to update the login Keychain password, you will receive constant prompts from Mac OS X asking for the "login Keychain password." To fix this, please refer to Keychain minder
